A used Ford checklist for Dubai is two lists. GCC-spec Territory, Ranger, Explorer, Mustang and Taurus are the cars the dealer sold here. US-spec Mustang and F-150 are the imports with amber markers, different condensers, different lighting and a parts story you feel on the first bumper. Buy either, but inspect like an adult.
Vesla will inspect before you transfer if the seller allows a lift. If they will not allow a lift, you already have data.
GCC Fords: the volume cars

Service stamps, then the lift. Coolant crust on 3.5 EcoBoost. ATF colour on 10-speeds. Battery age. AC vent temperature at idle. Pads. A scan with pending codes, not only stored. Territory shudder on a hot take-off. Ranger air filter packed with dust. Taurus bushes. None of this is exotic. All of it is cheaper than a surprise after Tasjeel.
A reset service light and a fresh wipe are not history. Ask for invoices. A Territory with three oils in 40,000 km is worth more than a prettier one with a single first-year stamp.
US-spec Mustang and F-150

Import Mustangs and F-150s can be wonderful. They can also be a lighting, AC and bumper catalogue. GCC heat plus a condenser designed for a different market is a real AC conversation. Spare parts for crash repair can be slower. Insurance can be fussy. None of that means “don’t buy.” It means budget an inspection and a parts reality, not only a dream spec sheet.

Check for flood stories, auction stickers, and a cluster that does not match the seats. Check that the VIN matches the body. Check EcoBoost coolant on 3.5 F-150s the same way we do on Explorer. Check 10-speed behaviour hot. A US GT that sat on a port then sat in Sharjah still needs a battery and fluid that have seen this climate.
The ten-minute test you can do

Cold start. Hot idle AC at the vent. Drive until the gearbox is hot, then a stop-start in a car park. Look under for pink crust and black oil. Smell the ATF if there is a stick. Sit in the sun ten minutes and restart. That last restart is the 10-speed and the battery talking. Then put it on a lift.
We inspect on a booking, not as theatre in a seller’s compound without a jack. Book: book an appointment. If you already own the Ford and need the model map: Ford repair garage in Dubai.
Walk away when
Seller will not allow a scan. Coolant is milk. Gearbox bangs hot and the fluid is glitter. Title story does not match the VIN plate. US-spec advertised as GCC. A “just serviced” car with a filter still in factory plastic in the boot and no invoice. Dubai has enough Fords that you do not need that one.
Vesla, Ras Al Khor. Bring the car or send the listing and the VIN. We will not bless a dirty 10-speed to close your deal, and we will not call a US-spec F-150 a GCC Ranger because the seller asked nicely.
Paper: Mulkiya, export papers on imports, accident history if you can get it, and a VIN that matches the dashboard, the door and the papers. A Mustang with a nice wrap can hide a nose. We still look under the wrap if you pay for an inspection. Paint meter is not drama. It is Dubai.
Tasjeel is not an inspection. Passing lights and emissions does not mean the 10-speed is quiet hot. Do the hot gearbox test before you fall in love. Do the AC idle test in the afternoon, not at 8 AM in January.
Finance buyers: your bank may not like US-spec. Ask before the deposit. We inspect cars. We do not argue with banks.
After you buy: first visit should be oil, filters, a scan, a battery test, and ATF colour even if the seller swore it was serviced. That visit is cheaper than trusting a man with a pressure washer. Bring the invoices you were given. We will tell you if they match the car.
If you are selling, the same list makes you money. A clean pan photo, a load-test print, and three oil invoices sell a Territory faster than a ceramic coat. We can produce the mechanical file. The wash is on you.
Mustang EcoBoost versus GT on the used market: EcoBoost dailies hide carbon and a tired 10-speed. GTs hide pads, sitting batteries and cooling that was never cleaned. Test both as the car they are, not as the poster. A cheap GT with no invoices is not a bargain. A dear EcoBoost with three oils a year might be.
F-150 SuperCrew versus Regular Cab: park the long one before you pay. Basement height, ramp angle, a DIFC car park. Mechanical inspection does not include your building. Measure.
After inspection we write a list: now, soon, ignore. “Ignore” is how you do not get upsold a perfect car into a project. If the list is long, we will say walk. That is the service. The fee is for the truth, not for a blessing.
Service history in Arabic, English or a dealer printout — all fine. WhatsApp screenshots of a transfer are not history. Photos of an oil cap are not history. We read paper and we read the car. When they disagree, the car wins.
Negotiate with the list in your hand. A AED 2,000 ATF service and a battery is a discount conversation, not a walk if the rest is clean. A glitter pan is a walk. Knowing the difference is the checklist.
Book mornings if you want the inspection before an afternoon transfer. We are Monday to Saturday 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Bring the seller or bring a signed paper that you may put the car on a lift. No lift, no underneath. No underneath, no blessing.
